The Kansas State Senate has approved a budget with a 100% cut
to the Kansas Arts Commission (KAC) —
effectively eliminating it.
This decision would devastate arts organizations and erase vital funding for public art, arts education, and community programs across Kansas.
Why This Matters:The arts are a $4.6B industry in Kansas, supporting 41,643 jobs — contributing more than utilities and nearly as much as agriculture.
In 2024-2025, KAC grants supported 108 recipients across 42 counties. Arts funding fuels creativity, strengthens local economies, and builds vibrant communities.
Take Action Now: Tell Kansas legislators to reinstate KAC funding or ensure any cuts are equitable.
