Detour Wichita Series: Homage to the Past

Over the next 12 months I am challenging myself to create 48 poster designs inspired by shows from the history of Wichita, KS. The intention is to release 4 posters each month to highlight and reflect on the cities relatively underrated entertainment scene.

To provide some parameters, I am going to be covering 100 years from 1923 to 2023, specifically over concerts and stand up comedy across Wichita venues.

All designs are going to be created using the same sizing dimensions of 4800 pixels x 7200 Pixels. The medium will be a digital canvas. I want to put an emphasis on period accurate typography and design structure to encompass the communication styles across different decades and genres.

The first 4 designs will be available at the end of June.

Subjects include Century II, The Orpheum Theatre, Kansas Coliseum, ACDC, Creed, Dolly Parton, Van Halen, Grand ole Opry, Ramones, and Collective Soul.
